Job description

About the Role

This position is a key strategic recruitment to establish and expand iWise Education's presence in Kenya. It requires building the office infrastructure, client pipeline, and brand reputation from the ground up. Candidates will provide genuine education counselling while managing recruitment and marketing efforts to foster student enrolment and partnerships.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Advise students on suitable study destinations, institutions, and programs within Australia, the UK, Europe, and Southeast Asia based on their profiles and budgets.
  • Manage the entire enrolment process, from initial enquiry to admission, documentation, and final enrolment confirmation.
  • Convert prospective student enquiries into confirmed enrolments, which is a core performance metric.
  • Build and nurture partnerships with schools, colleges, universities, and recruitment agents throughout Nairobi and across Kenya/East Africa over time.
  • Organize and execute seminars, informational sessions, and education fairs to generate high-quality prospective leads.
  • Represent iWise Education professionally in all institutional and partner interactions.
  • Execute local consumer marketing campaigns using digital, community, referral, and on-the-ground methods to continuously generate qualified leads.
  • Collaborate with the Melbourne head office to align campaign messaging and brand visibility in Kenya.
  • Maintain disciplined tracking of leads and pipeline progress using CRM or structured systems for accurate reporting.
  • Meet targets for student recruitment, partnership development, and enrolment conversion, with transparent reporting on progress metrics.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of direct experience in international education recruitment or study abroad consultancy; candidates with only general sales, marketing, or domestic admissions background will not qualify.
  • Documented personal success in converting student enquiries into actual enrolments, supported by concrete data regarding numbers, destinations, and conversion rates.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform both student counselling and recruitment/marketing business development functions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, coupled with strong presentation abilities.
  • Comfort with working independently under target-driven conditions, capable of initiating and managing growth from scratch.
  • Willingness to travel locally across Nairobi and eventually within the broader East African region.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Established networks with educational institutions or recruitment agents across Kenya.
  • Prior experience recruiting students specifically for Australia, the UK, Europe, or Southeast Asia.
  • Experience deploying digital marketing and lead generation tools such as Meta, Google, WhatsApp funnels, and event management.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms or alternate structured pipeline management tools.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary that reflects individual experience and capabilities.
  • Uncapped commission structure and performance bonuses based on successful student conversions, with high performers rewarded handsomely.
  • Clear progression path to a Country Manager role as the Kenya operation expands.
  • Continuous training and support from the Melbourne headquarters.
  • Autonomy to lead and develop the brand's footprint across East Africa.
  • Hybrid work model based in Nairobi.

Application Instructions

Applicants must submit a CV alongside a succinct cover letter (up to 250 words) directly addressing the following:

  1. Number of students personally converted to enrolments in the last role over a 12-month period, specifying target destinations and conversion figures.
  2. Description of one specific student enquiry successfully converted into enrolment, highlighting counselling approach and closing techniques.
  3. Strategies to acquire the initial 20 qualified student leads within Nairobi during the first 60 days.

Submissions without detailed, candid responses to these questions will not be considered. Shortlisted candidates will undergo a rigorous interview process emphasizing real counselling scenarios, conversion tactics, and market entry strategies. Candidates must demonstrate verifiable past successes.

Additional Information

Applicants must reside in or have legal work authorization for Kenya. This role functions under the direct oversight of iWise Education's Melbourne office. The organization strictly prohibits charging candidates any recruitment fees. Equal opportunity employment applies.
