Job description
Position Overview
We are looking for a creative and meticulous Editorial Social Media Producer to contribute on a part-time contract basis. This role involves planning and crafting research-driven and thought leadership content primarily for social media channels, beginning with the launch of a custom editorial newsletter.
The project focuses on examining the societal, economic, and safety aspects of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). Your work will engage communities of policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders via brand channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end process of the monthly newsletter including planning, curating, writing, and publishing while ensuring a consistent, high-quality editorial schedule.
- Convert complex academic and technical AI research—including topics like biomedicine, economics, and AI governance—into accessible, engaging narratives for newsletters and social media posts without compromising depth.
- Lead visual storytelling efforts by coordinating the development of social-first visual content such as infographics, carousels, videos, and interactive polls alongside the design team.
- Collaborate with the social media team to integrate editorial content with paid social campaigns by identifying top-performing materials and aiding A/B testing.
- Support broader campaign initiatives with copywriting assistance and asset coordination during significant research releases and milestones.
- Analyze performance data for newsletters and posts—covering subscriber counts, views, shares, and read-time—to generate insights that enhance content strategy and impact.
- Safeguard brand consistency by adhering strictly to communication guidelines in all content.
- Work closely with research leads and essay authors to enhance their social media profiles (especially LinkedIn) and prepare them for effective thought leadership promotion.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrable editorial experience managing and growing social channels, blogs, or newsletters (notably LinkedIn Newsletters or Substack) within tech, research, or science sectors.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to simplify technical or economic concepts for an informed but non-expert audience.
- Experience or strong interest in executive communication and thought leadership, including personal branding and supporting senior executives on social platforms.
- Proficiency in visual content development through storyboarding or directing charts, diagrams, and short videos to complement written material.
- Genuine interest in AI/AGI developments and their societal and economic impacts.
- Strong stakeholder management abilities, including collaborating and building trust with senior researchers and executives.
- Highly self-motivated, capable of independently managing time and meeting publication deadlines within a part-time framework.
