Role overview
Macy’s is seeking an Editorial Content Specialist focused on apparel and center core. In this role, you will shape the storytelling and product curation for seasonal fashion marketing, turning trend direction into unified content across print, digital, email, broadcast, mobile, and social channels. You will work with merchant and marketing partners to keep the messaging aligned with seasonal hero products, key trends, theme direction, and broader company priorities.
What you will do
- Track emerging fashion and marketing trends by reviewing competitors, magazines, digital publications, email campaigns, social media, and mobile experiences.
- Bring forward original and creative fashion marketing concepts across every channel.
- Follow the marketing workflow calendar closely so projects are planned and delivered on time.
- Support strategic fashion marketing efforts in partnership with creative and marketing teams.
- Lead the content marketing process for fashion campaigns from idea stage through final execution.
- Work with merchants on marketing plans, product storytelling, sample coordination, timing, and MAS turn-in work for full-price fashion books, digital, email, and social content.
- Participate in style-outs and present product choices to creative, marketing, and project management stakeholders.
- Attend editorial campaign shoots when needed for owned campaigns.
- Act as an internal project lead to keep work moving smoothly across channels from start to finish.
- Help develop marketing briefs.
- Oversee print and digital turn-ins to meet all deadlines and deliverables.
- Handle digital testing and manage product pools, including curation and build-out.
- Manage mid-tier campaigns or several smaller business areas at the same time.
- Help maintain a respectful and inclusive workplace that builds strong relationships with coworkers, customers, and communities.
- Show dependable attendance, punctuality, and consistent follow-through on deliverables.
Skills and capabilities
- Ability to write persuasive, engaging fashion-focused stories and content for multiple channels.
- Strong understanding of fashion marketing, trend movement, and audience behavior.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to contribute fresh ideas that strengthen campaigns.
- Excellent project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
- Comfort working across merchandising, creative, project management, and marketing teams.
- Strong attention to detail in planning, sample coordination, and workflow management.
- Clear verbal and written communication for presentations and stakeholder updates.
- Comfort researching markets and tracking competitor activity across media platforms.
- Ownership mentality with the confidence to lead smaller business areas or campaign work.
