Job description
Role Overview
The Economic Development Director is a senior executive position within the City of East Point’s leadership team. The role is responsible for shaping strategy and driving programs that support the city’s economic strength, community growth, and long-term prosperity.
Reporting to the East Point City Manager, this leader coordinates a broad set of priorities, including attracting new businesses, supporting existing businesses, encouraging expansion, managing redevelopment efforts, promoting tourism, advancing innovation, using data to guide decisions, and leading marketing and communications efforts. The objective is to bring these workstreams together into a unified approach that improves East Point’s competitiveness and quality of life.
Key Focus Areas
- Lead the city’s economic development strategy and help define long-term priorities.
- Direct efforts to attract new businesses and investment into the city.
- Support business retention and expansion initiatives for existing employers.
