Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Ecommerce Product Catalog & Research Analyst based in the United States to take charge of maintaining product data quality and managing digital merchandising in a growing e-commerce setting. This role involves ensuring product details are accurate, consistent, and optimized across various online platforms to enhance customer experience and product visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage the accuracy of product catalogs across several e-commerce platforms and internal content systems.
- Optimize product titles, descriptions, images, metadata, and classifications following SEO best practices and platform-specific standards.
- Regularly audit product listings to detect errors, inconsistencies, missing details, or merchandising problems.
- Investigate and fix catalog inconsistencies, errors, and data quality issues to provide a cohesive customer experience.
- Assist in developing and supporting product taxonomies, attributes, and SKU organization for both new and existing items.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, content, design, and operational teams to ensure products are represented well across digital channels.
- Track platform updates, competitor strategies, and category trends to discover areas for catalog enhancement.
- Analyze product catalog performance data to offer insights that support merchandising decisions and optimization efforts.
- Help refine catalog workflows, processes, and implement automation where possible.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, E-commerce, Data Analysis, or related disciplines.
- Five to seven years of experience in product catalog management, e-commerce operations, or digital merchandising roles focused on analysis and content.
- Practical experience with e-commerce platforms like Amazon Seller Central, Flipkart Seller Hub, Shopify, or Magento.
- Knowledgeable in content management systems and digital product data processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to handle large product data sets accurately.
- Understanding of SEO principles, product taxonomy, metadata optimization, and merchandising best practices for online platforms.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets to analyze and interpret product data.
- Strong organizational skills, problem-solving aptitude, and ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Experience with Product Information Management (PIM) systems, catalog automation tools, or product data workflows is advantageous.
- Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics or Data Studio for monitoring product metrics is a plus.
