Job description
Role overview
Nord Anglia Education is hiring an Early Years Teacher for Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar. EGA is a newly launched IB World School, and this role is ideal for a caring, imaginative educator who can help shape a lively, play-based, inquiry-driven environment for young learners within the IB PYP Early Years framework.
What you will do
- Design and teach engaging learning experiences built around play and inquiry, aligned with the IB PYP Early Years framework.
- Maintain a classroom that feels safe, supportive, stimulating, and welcoming for every child.
- Observe children’s progress, document learning through portfolios, and use evidence to guide the next stage of development.
- Work closely with parents and families through consistent communication and active engagement.
- Take part in collaborative planning, reflection, and review of inquiry units with the Early Years team.
- Embed the IB learner profile, international-mindedness, and PYP attitudes into everyday classroom practice.
- Support children’s wellbeing, growing independence, and social-emotional development.
- Contribute to the wider school community through professional development, events, and school improvement initiatives.
Candidate profile
The school is seeking a teacher with a recognised qualification in Early Years, primary, or early childhood education such as a PGCE, QTS, B.Ed, or an equivalent credential. Experience teaching children aged 3–6 in an Early Years setting is important, with IB or other international school exposure preferred. Familiarity with the IB PYP Early Years framework, or a similar inquiry-based curriculum, will be valuable. A strong grasp of child development and play-based, child-led learning is essential, along with excellent communication skills and a warm approach when working with children and families. The role also calls for a strong commitment to inclusive practice, safeguarding, and child protection. Experience in an international school is an advantage.
