Job Overview

The Dual Enrollment Counselor is responsible for providing comprehensive support to students enrolled in early college and dual enrollment programs. This includes offering enrollment assistance, academic and career counseling, mentoring, coaching, and ongoing follow-up to ensure student success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist prospective and current dual enrollment students with enrollment procedures and provide academic and career advising.
  • Offer guidance to students in connecting with on-campus support services to facilitate academic progress.
  • Design and conduct informative sessions for prospective students, parents, and secondary school representatives to promote and explain dual enrollment programs.
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies aimed at recruiting and orienting new dual enrollment participants.
  • Engage in events that promote the program and maintain communications with school counselors and other stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and monitor student participation and performance in dual enrollment initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various departments within the college to enhance the processes managing dual enrollment programs and ensure stakeholders are well-informed.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and share gained insights and strategies with the college community.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports documenting student achievements and program outcomes within established timelines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree with relevant experience in student services programs.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in a related discipline along with at least three years of experience in student services, teaching, or youth counseling.

Additional Information

  • May require occasional travel to attend meetings, conferences, or workshops out of town.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary to support special events.
