Role Overview
We are seeking a dependable Driver / Dockhand to join our Air Freight team in Launceston. This role involves hands-on duties such as local deliveries, freight handling, and forklift operation to support the efficiency and safety of our air freight operations.
Work Schedule
This full-time permanent position involves 38 hours weekly, working afternoon shifts Monday through Thursday from 1:30 PM to 9:00 PM and Fridays from 1:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform local deliveries and pickups promptly and safely.
- Load and unload freight efficiently.
- Operate a forklift under required safety standards.
- Assist with warehouse and dock activities supporting day-to-day operations.
- Prepare freight for air transport in compliance with aviation standards.
- Conduct regular vehicle and equipment inspections.
- Adhere strictly to safety and aviation security protocols.
- Collaborate within a busy team environment to meet daily deadlines.
Required Qualifications and Attributes
- Must hold a valid LF Forklift Licence.
- Possession or willingness to obtain MR Licence is preferred.
- Previous experience in driving, warehousing, or freight operations is advantageous.
- Strong commitment to maintaining safety standards.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with teammates.
- Dependable with a positive and proactive attitude.
Aviation Compliance
- Capability to obtain and retain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
- Successful completion of security and background verifications.
- Compliance with CASA, CISC, and aviation security regulations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage of $29.2270 plus superannuation.
- Afternoon shift allowance of 17.5% applicable to PM hours.
