About the Role

Linfox invites motivated individuals to join our team as a Maintenance Assistant at our Hazelmere location. In this hands-on role within our Facilities team, you will play a vital part in ensuring our warehouse and transport operations remain safe, efficient, and well-maintained. Ideal candidates enjoy practical maintenance tasks, take pride in facility upkeep, and thrive in a dynamic operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct general building repairs, preventative maintenance, and various handyman tasks
  • Carry out site upkeep activities including line marking, painting, cleaning, and minor carpentry
  • Assist the Facilities Coordinator with maintenance projects and site improvement efforts
  • Support contractor management including permits and compliance with safety standards (training provided)
  • Operate forklifts and other site equipment for material movement
  • Perform inspections and report maintenance concerns proactively to prevent issues
  • Maintain inventory of minor maintenance tools, equipment, and spare parts
  • Drive company vehicles as needed to acquire materials and supplies
  • Provide assistance to metropolitan and regional sites when required

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in general maintenance, facility operations, handyman duties, or related trades
  • Holds a current C Class Driver's Licence (mandatory)
  • Possession of a forklift licence is preferred
  • Trade qualifications or maintenance-related experience is advantageous
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety for employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Experience working collaboratively with contractors to ensure compliance and quality work
  • Proficient with power tools and capable of performing basic repairs safely
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities
  • Proactive in identifying and addressing maintenance needs promptly
  • Effective communicator able to foster good relationships across teams and external providers
  • Flexible and willing to support multiple sites as necessary
