Position overview
The Diversity Account Executive role focuses on expanding business through supplier diversity programs. In this position, you will spot growth opportunities, nurture strategic customer relationships, and connect diverse suppliers with relevant commercial opportunities. You will act as a trusted advisor to sales teams, customers, and supplier partners, supporting supplier diversity goals while contributing to measurable business outcomes.
The right candidate will be strong at building relationships, influencing key stakeholders, interpreting spend information, and shaping strategies that improve engagement with diverse suppliers across a range of categories.
Key responsibilities
- Work with customers to understand their supplier diversity objectives and create strategies that align with those goals.
- Find opportunities to expand diverse supplier usage and increase category penetration within customer accounts.
- Review spend, sourcing, and supplier data to identify growth possibilities and actionable business insights.
- Partner with sales, category management, procurement, and supplier partners to design tailored customer solutions.
- Develop and sustain relationships with certified diverse suppliers, advocacy groups, and industry stakeholders.
- Lead business review discussions and share supplier diversity results, opportunities, and recommendations with customers and internal teams.
- Assist with RFP responses, customer-facing presentations, and supplier diversity reporting needs.
- Train internal teams on supplier diversity trends, customer expectations, and available supplier options.
- Maintain an active opportunity pipeline and carry out strategic account plans to support revenue growth and stronger customer engagement.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Between 3 and 7 years of experience in supplier diversity, account management, business development, procurement, sourcing, or sales.
- Proven ability to manage customer relationships and influence stakeholders across functions.
- Strong analytical ability with experience interpreting spend and performance data.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving work environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Understanding of supplier diversity programs and certification bodies.
- Background working with procurement teams at Fortune 1000 companies.
- Familiarity with sourcing, procurement, and category management workflows.
- Experience presenting to senior executives and customer procurement teams.
- Comfort using CRM systems, Excel, and reporting tools.
