Job Overview
General Motors is seeking a District Manager for OnStar & Loyalty services in the Los Angeles North territory. This role focuses on nurturing dealer partnerships and driving customer engagement through GM's connected vehicle services including OnStar, My GM Rewards, and the GM Rewards Credit Card. The position is primarily field-based, involving frequent travel to dealerships within the assigned district to enhance subscription growth and dealer performance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Function as the lead advocate and trusted advisor for OnStar and GM's subscription software across assigned dealerships.
- Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with dealership leadership including owners, general managers, and sales and service teams.
- Serve as the liaison between OnStar, GM vehicle brands, and dealerships to ensure coordinated goals and messaging.
- Inspire dealership teams by communicating the value of OnStar’s connected ecosystem and loyalty programs to elevate customer experience and dealer profitability.
- Act as a subject matter expert on My GM Rewards and GM Rewards Credit Cards, guiding dealerships in customer retention and satisfaction strategies.
- Leverage data analytics to monitor performance through monthly and quarterly reviews, collaboratively devising action plans for sustained business growth.
- Design and implement comprehensive training programs, both virtual and in-person, for dealership staff on OnStar services, loyalty programs, connected vehicle technologies, and exemplary customer onboarding processes.
- Resolve technical and customer-related issues concerning OnStar products and related platforms to ensure smooth customer experiences.
- Collaborate internally among GM departments such as Sales, Service, Marketing, Fleet, and Loyalty teams to align dealer support and marketing initiatives.
- Remain adaptable and continuously improve by integrating feedback and best practices to enhance dealer and customer engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of sales and customer service experience.
- Bachelor's degree or alternatively, 4+ years in the automotive sector.
- Strong communication skills with ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences, both in-person and remote.
- Availability to work flexible hours including occasional weekends and holidays to support dealership operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ability to troubleshoot technology and subscription service issues confidently.
- Exceptional time management skills prioritizing high-impact tasks aligned with agreed goals.
- Capability and willingness to travel extensively within the territory, including regular overnight stays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working directly with automotive dealerships or OEM environments, including new, used, commercial, and service operations.
- Demonstrates a growth mindset with continuous learning and adaptability to fast-paced and evolving environments.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, focused on meeting and exceeding growth targets.
- Strong multitasking, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities, backed by data-driven decision making.
Additional Information
The candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate to an approved city within the Los Angeles North district and be ready to travel frequently. Migration sponsorship is not offered. The role requires a valid driver’s license and successful completion of motor vehicle report checks. This position does not include relocation benefits and any relocation costs are the candidate’s responsibility.
