Job description

Role Overview

As a pharmacy Dispenser at Boots UK, you will play a vital part within the pharmacy team, assisting pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe and effective pharmacy and health care services. Your duties will involve close patient interaction to understand their needs and provide guidance on medication and wellness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescriptions accurately and ensure the safe provision of medication, including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and prescription collection.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy and healthcare team members to manage and provide pharmacy services efficiently.
  • Give patients advice regarding medicines and refer complex queries to the pharmacist when necessary.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to guarantee legal and safe dispensing practices.
  • Stay informed about new store technologies and operational procedures, using them to enhance dispensing accuracy and patient safety.
  • Assist patients in managing their prescriptions effectively, encouraging adherence and minimizing medication waste.

Professional Development

You will receive ongoing training to expand your pharmaceutical knowledge and may have opportunities for career advancement such as becoming a Pharmacy Technician or taking on leadership roles within the store.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must have completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 or an equivalent accreditation, or be currently pursuing an MPharm degree having completed at least the first year.
  • Possess a valid UK right to work; candidates requiring Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship are not eligible.
  • Previous experience in community pharmacy is advantageous but not mandatory.

Remuneration

The role offers an hourly wage starting at £13.92 with potential increases up to £16.64 in selected London locations.

Additional Information

This role requires applicants to be based in the UK store environment; remote applications or those without UK work rights will not be considered.
