About the Role

As a Dispatcher at First Student, you play a vital role reflecting the company's dedication to safety and excellent customer service. Your primary responsibilities include dispatching buses, ensuring punctual route performance, and providing guidance to drivers and monitors on the frontline.

Key Duties

• Manage all bus routes and scheduling operations
• Provide counseling and coaching support to drivers and monitors
• Handle extensive phone and radio communications
• Address scheduling and driver complaints, reporting to the Operations Supervisor or Contract Manager
• Act as the main communication liaison with major contracted customers
• Potentially manage charter reservations, billing, and driver payroll tasks
• Resolve issues related to pickup and drop-off logistics
• Serve as a backup driver or perform various clerical duties as required
• Complete assigned special projects
• Assist in supervising daily operational activities

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Between three to five years of relevant experience
• High school diploma or equivalent education
• Familiarity with radio dispatch equipment
• Strong communication and customer service capabilities
• Ability to perform effectively under time pressure and deadlines
• Experience in terminal operations, dispatch, or driving roles
• Proficiency in computer use
• Subject to successful background verification
