Job description
Role overview
This position supports student discipline and daily school operations through active supervision, behaviour monitoring, incident handling, and restorative support. The role requires a steady, professional presence on campus and close coordination with school staff and leaders.
Key duties
- Carry out routine campus patrols and oversee students during recess, lunch breaks, and transition times.
- Observe student conduct and help implement preventive discipline strategies.
- Support peer conflict resolution and provide basic mediation when suitable.
- Track and update daily late-coming and attendance records.
- Supervise students serving in-house suspension and guide them through reflective tasks.
- Help students transition back into class after suspension.
- Assist with initial investigations by collecting statements and relevant information.
- Assemble supporting evidence and draft incident reports for school leadership.
- Keep discipline records and related documentation accurate and up to date.
- Work according to the school deployment plan and report to the Student Development Committee.
- Handle all duties with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgement.
- Develop respectful relationships with students while collaborating effectively with teachers and school leaders.
Experience and capability requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a uniformed service such as the Singapore Police Force, Singapore Prison Service, or a similar organisation.
- Background in youth case work, behaviour support, or restorative approaches is preferred.
- Strong ability to manage conflict, calm tense situations, and communicate clearly.
- Capable of making sound decisions and handling sensitive matters discreetly.
- Comfortable preparing accurate incident notes and maintaining records.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic data handling.
- Firm but respectful manner, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students.
- Able to work closely with teachers and school personnel.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality, fairness, and professional ethics.
- Empathetic mindset with support for a care-based, restorative student development approach.
