Traeger is a pioneering company in the outdoor cooking industry, having invented the wood pellet grill over 30 years ago. Based in Salt Lake City, we are a passionate group of innovators, problem solvers, and BBQ fans committed to enhancing how people enjoy flavorful outdoor cooking experiences. We provide exceptional service to customers, retailers, and employees alike.

Role Overview

The Director/Senior Director of Corporate Finance & Investor Relations is a senior leadership role within Traeger's Finance team. Reporting to the VP of FP&A, Strategy & IR, and collaborating closely with the CFO and executive team, you will be responsible for overseeing long-range financial planning, product finance, investor relations, and treasury functions. This leadership position manages two Finance Managers and operates at the crossroads of strategy, capital markets, and financial planning to maximize shareholder value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and own Traeger’s comprehensive long-term financial model.
  • Lead the annual three-year financial planning process aligned with strategic priorities and operating plans.
  • Conduct scenario planning to evaluate a variety of macroeconomic, competitive, and operational factors, highlighting risks and opportunities for senior leadership.
  • Analyze investment capacity to guide capital allocation according to corporate strategy.
  • Deliver thorough financial support and analysis for new product investments and long-term portfolio management.
  • Establish clear financial parameters to inform product development and category investments.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on Integrated Business Planning (IBP), facilitating quarterly portfolio reviews and alignment.
  • Manage the entire quarterly earnings cycle, including preparation, scripting, Q&A readiness, and follow-up communications.
  • Develop and execute investor targeting strategies, arranging conferences and meetings to foster relationships with buy-side and sell-side entities.
  • Produce competitive and peer benchmarking reports to inform executive strategies and investor messaging.
  • Oversee administration of term loans and debt-related activities, offering scenario-based capital structure analysis.
  • Manage working capital forecasting and cash position visibility for leadership.
  • Maintain comprehensive free cash flow models that support capital allocation decisions.
  • Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing Corporate Finance team fostering accountability, learning, and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related disciplines; MBA or CFA credentials are highly desired.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, FP&A, investment banking, or investor relations.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing and growing high-performing teams.
  • Substantial investor relations experience, ideally with buy-side or sell-side exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of treasury functions, capital structure, debt management, working capital, and free cash flow modeling.
  • Excellent skills in business partnering and earning the trust of senior executives by translating complex financial data into strategic insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication skills and executive presence for effective presentations to C-suite and Board audiences.
  • Advanced financial modeling expertise and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Adaptive Planning, Redshift/SQL, or similar tools is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to harness AI technologies to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Dynamic, results-driven leader adept at navigating ambiguity, prioritizing effectively, and upholding high standards for self and team.
  • A player-coach leadership style, comfortable engaging in detail work while maintaining strategic oversight.
  • Sound judgment balancing agility with precision — knowing when to proceed quickly with direction and when to invest in detailed analysis.
