Role Overview
This position reports to the Chief Growth Officer and partners closely with the CEO, CFO, CLO/CCO, VP Carbon Solutions, and other leadership teams. The Director/VP will spearhead a new revenue stream focusing on embedding localized environmental solutions within data centers and other infrastructure developments. This entrepreneurial sales role merges interests in AI infrastructure, energy, water stewardship, and regenerative agriculture. Responsibilities include pipeline development, contract negotiation, strategic partnerships, and establishing the company as a leading environmental solutions provider in infrastructure.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee an enterprise sales pipeline from initial contact to contract execution.
- Build and nurture relationships with hyperscalers, data center developers, utilities, infrastructure investors, and energy firms.
- Secure and grow lighthouse customers who can expand into long-term collaborators.
- Form strategic partnerships to accelerate adoption and business growth.
- Collaborate directly with executive leadership on pricing strategies, commercial approaches, and customer offerings.
- Represent Grassroots Carbon at industry events, customer meetings, and strategic forums.
Core Duties
- Lead business development across data centers, power generation, utilities, and industrial infrastructure sectors.
- Manage complex enterprise sales cycles, including prospecting, negotiations, and deal closures.
- Foster relationships with senior decision-makers within targeted segments.
- Create repeatable sales processes and commercialization methods.
- Conduct customer discovery and market validation to drive growth.
- Establish and maintain ecosystems of strategic partners and channel relationships to differentiate offerings.
- Define pricing frameworks and commercial models, analyzing priority geographies and market opportunities.
- Translate customer insights into scalable solutions and sustainable revenue streams.
Success Metrics (Within 6–12 Months)
- Build a robust sales pipeline in AI infrastructure and energy markets.
- Complete thorough customer discovery and validate commercial demand.
- Close multiple pilot projects and enterprise partnerships.
- Finalize initial corporate agreements with infrastructure clients.
- Generate measurable revenue contributions from this new line of business.
- Establish Grassroots Carbon as a recognized environmental partner for infrastructure development.
Qualifications
- 7 to 15+ years in sales, business development, partnerships, or commercial leadership roles.
- Existing network and relationships within data centers, infrastructure, utilities, power generation, or energy sectors.
- Proven expertise in managing complex enterprise sales and closing large contracts, potentially reaching nine-figure deals.
- Strong executive presence with exceptional customer-facing abilities.
- Motivated to build from the ground up and take accountability for outcomes.
- Comfortable operating with high autonomy and responsibility.
