Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join as Director, Talent Engagement. This key role blends strategic advisory with hands-on involvement, partnering closely with senior leaders and supporting field-based teams. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance on workforce planning, employee engagement, and comprehensive HR programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise senior leadership on workforce strategy, organizational design, and talent management aligned with business goals.
- Develop and implement people plans that promote team effectiveness, engagement, and retention.
- Manage the full spectrum of employee benefits and leave programs, ensuring compliance and handling complex cases.
- Oversee the new hire process including orientation, documentation, training, and integration to foster early engagement.
- Maintain competitive compensation frameworks by conducting job evaluations, market research, and benchmarking.
- Handle employee relations matters such as performance issues, conflicts, disciplinary actions, and separations.
- Lead impartial investigations, documentation, trend analysis, and coordinate with legal counsel as necessary.
- Coach managers on consistent and effective people management practices.
- Support all stages of the employee lifecycle including performance management, succession planning, development, and offboarding.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on employment laws affecting multiple states, notably Texas and California, advising on compliance-related matters.
Required Qualifications
- More than 10 years of progressive HR experience, particularly as an HR Business Partner.
- Expertise in compensation, benefits, and total rewards administration.
- Strong employee relations proficiency, including conducting investigations and managing complex cases.
- Demonstrated ability to counsel senior leaders with professionalism, discretion, and strong business insight.
- Experience with multi-state workforce operations and relevant employment law knowledge.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building aptitude at all organizational levels.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in renewable energy sectors such as solar, wind, or battery storage.
- Experience working in scaling companies with 100 to 500 employees.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with HR information systems and people analytics.
