Role overview
This contract/interim opportunity is with a leading management consultancy client seeking a seasoned finance leader to strengthen decision-making across balance sheet management, liquidity, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A). The assignment is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is expected to run for 6–12 months with the possibility of extension.
What the role focuses on
The position is designed to support financial strategy, performance interpretation, and scenario-based planning. The successful professional will work closely with senior leaders across finance, treasury, and business teams to provide clear, practical insights that inform strategic choices.
Core responsibilities
In this role, you will lead work across balance sheet structure, liquidity, forecasting, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory alignment.
- Review and improve the balance sheet structure, including asset-liability management and liquidity positioning.
- Build and refine Funds Transfer Pricing frameworks to help performance measurement and capital allocation.
- Contribute to liquidity risk management activities, including LCR, NSFR, and internal stress-testing exercises.
- Track and explain the drivers behind net interest income and overall balance sheet performance.
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and longer-term financial planning cycles.
- Create executive dashboards and reporting materials for leadership teams and other key stakeholders.
- Assess business performance trends and highlight emerging risks as well as growth opportunities.
- Support strategic projects by turning financial analysis into actionable recommendations.
- Develop financial models and scenario analyses to compare strategic alternatives.
- Use data-led analysis to convert complex financial information into decision-ready insights.
- Support decisions related to capital allocation, funding approaches, and growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with Treasury, Finance, Risk, and business stakeholders to align priorities.
- Interact with senior leaders, including the CFO, ALCO, and executive committees.
- Communicate findings effectively to both finance and non-finance audiences.
- Ensure work is aligned with local regulatory expectations, with SAMA familiarity preferred.
- Assess how regulatory changes affect liquidity, capital, and balance sheet strategy.
- Monitor market developments that influence funding costs, interest rates, and financial outcomes.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate brings deep experience across treasury, financial planning, and advisory work, along with strong analytical and stakeholder-facing capability.
- 10 to 18+ years of relevant experience in banking, financial services, treasury, or Big 4/advisory environments.
- Strong background in treasury, ALM, or financial risk-focused advisory work.
- Hands-on expertise in asset-liability management and liquidity management.
- Practical experience with Funds Transfer Pricing frameworks.
- Solid exposure to FP&A, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Saudi Arabia or broader GCC market experience is strongly preferred.
- Advanced financial modelling and quantitative analysis skills.
- Strong understanding of balance sheet dynamics, interest rate risk, liquidity frameworks, and funding strategies.
- Advanced use of Excel and data visualisation/reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills across multiple functions.
- Ability to explain complex financial information in a clear, business-friendly way.
- Strong commercial awareness and a strategic mindset.
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving, transformation-oriented environment.
Additional requirements
- Must be available to work full-time from Riyadh.
- English fluency is required.
- Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- Immediate or short-notice availability is preferred for this contract assignment.
