The position focuses on maintaining strong quality standards, meeting regulatory obligations, and ensuring alignment with internal policies. A major part of the role involves reviewing existing systems and ways of working, identifying improvement areas, and implementing practical solutions to standardize and streamline quality processes across the APAC region.

Key responsibilities

  • Guide, coach, and develop the quality team while encouraging high performance, professional growth, and collaboration across borders.
  • Maintain deep working knowledge of QSRs, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, MDSAP, IVDR, and other applicable regulations to keep compliance embedded in daily operations.
  • Work closely with Regulatory, Operations, R&D, Supply Chain, Legal, and Commercial teams to align quality objectives and harmonize processes.
  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and data-led improvement programs covering non-conformances, CAPAs, complaints, and post-market surveillance.
  • Promote a customer-focused approach so that customer needs remain central to quality decisions and actions.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for regulators, notified bodies, and auditors across APAC.
  • Evaluate team structure, identify capability gaps, and coach employees to build a strong, best-in-class quality organization.
  • Identify, assess, and reduce quality-related risks while keeping up with changes in regulations and industry standards.
  • Deliver annual training on audit readiness.
  • Maintain knowledge of the company’s products and carry out other duties as assigned.

Candidate profile

  • Demonstrated experience creating quality functions across multiple countries or regions in APAC.
  • Background working in large, complex organizations.
  • Hands-on experience with both IVD and medical devices, including bringing new products to market.
  • Strong experience leading both large and small quality system harmonization projects.
  • Proven ability to build and operate effective post-market surveillance systems.
  • Strong leadership record managing diverse teams across multiple countries and cultures, including other people managers.
  • Analytical, strategic, and solution-oriented mindset with strong judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to drive accountability and empower others.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with sales, service, and marketing teams and interacting directly with customers as the quality representative.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel across APAC as needed, approximately 15% to 20%.
