Director of Technology Operations

Role overview

This position calls for a senior technology leader to direct the organization’s day-to-day and strategic technology operations. The role covers infrastructure, enterprise systems, service delivery, operational stability, and overall IT excellence. The selected professional will ensure that technology services remain reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with broader business priorities, while also guiding digital improvement efforts and maintaining strong service levels.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the organization’s technology operations roadmap in line with business objectives.
• Lead teams responsible for infrastructure, cloud platforms, networks, service management, end-user support, and enterprise applications.
• Define and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and other performance measures to support consistent service delivery.
• Introduce ongoing improvements that strengthen efficiency, service quality, and cost effectiveness.
• Oversee enterprise infrastructure, cloud ecosystems, data centers, network environments, and workplace technology.
• Ensure technology platforms are highly available, resilient, scalable, and performant.
• Guide capacity planning, disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational risk management efforts.
• Support infrastructure modernization and broader technology transformation programs.
• Run IT service delivery operations across the organization with a focus on responsiveness and dependability.
• Maintain ITIL-aligned service management practices.
• Track service performance and take corrective action to improve user experience and operational outcomes.
• Manage incident, problem, change, and release management processes.
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to maintain compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure adherence to governance structures, technology standards, and audit expectations.
• Lead mitigation efforts for technology operational risks and service continuity issues.
• Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and strategic technology partners.
• Negotiate contracts and ensure supplier performance meets business requirements.
• Develop and control operational budgets with a focus on cost efficiency and resource optimization.
• Build, coach, and lead high-performing technology operations teams.
• Work closely with executive leadership to support growth plans and digital initiatives.
• Present performance reports, technology roadmaps, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 12 years of experience in IT operations, technology infrastructure, service delivery, or technology management.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership position overseeing large-scale technology operations.
• Hands-on experience managing enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, networks, and IT service management functions.
• Track record of leading large operational teams and cross-functional technology initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of IT governance, risk management, compliance, and operational controls.
• Experience handling technology budgets, vendor agreements, and strategic technology investments.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making abilities.

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time, onsite role.
