Director of Supply Chain Operations

Opportunity Overview

This is a senior leadership opening for a Director of Supply Chain Operations to oversee and improve the organization’s full supply chain network from end to end. The role focuses on raising operational efficiency, strengthening supply chain outcomes, and ensuring smooth coordination across procurement, planning, inventory, logistics, and distribution.

The right candidate will bring a strategic mindset, a collaborative leadership style, and deep experience in supply chain operations and process improvement. This position will help support business growth by driving operational excellence and using data to guide decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement supply chain operating strategies that support business objectives.
• Manage day-to-day supply chain activity, including planning, inventory control, logistics, distribution, and fulfillment.
• Work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, Sales, Customer Service, and Operations teams to improve overall supply chain results.
• Define operational metrics and track key performance indicators to support ongoing improvement.
• Spot opportunities to increase efficiency, simplify operations, and improve service levels.
• Drive process improvement efforts using data analysis and proven best practices.
• Oversee relationships with suppliers and logistics partners to meet operational goals.
• Create capacity planning and inventory approaches that match business demand.
• Coach, develop, and lead strong supply chain teams while promoting accountability and teamwork.
• Share performance updates and strategic recommendations with senior leadership.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
• A master’s degree or MBA is considered an advantage.
• At least 8 years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain operations, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution is needed.
• Strong working knowledge of inventory management, demand planning, logistics, and supply chain optimization is essential.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and handling complex operational environments is required.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership abilities are expected.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, supply chain planning tools, and operational reporting platforms is important.
• Proven success improving operations through structured process enhancement initiatives is preferred.

Preferred Industry Experience

• Background in manufacturing, healthcare, technology, consumer products, industrial, retail, or logistics sectors is preferred.
• Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methods is an advantage.
• Experience managing supply chain operations across multiple sites or dispersed geographic locations is beneficial.
• Knowledge of supply chain analytics, inventory optimization, and transportation management systems is desirable.
