Role Summary
The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for planning, developing, and executing comprehensive supply chain operations across BSWH, including sourcing, procurement, logistics, biomedical services, vendor partnerships, and technology integration. The role involves creating and managing system-wide strategies and policies that ensure cost control, service excellence, compliance, and alignment with organizational goals. This leadership position oversees distribution, focuses on optimizing equipment and supply flow, and spearheads initiatives to enhance service efficiency and performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead supply chain operations for the designated BSWH area, including daily functions like receiving, inventory, order fulfillment, and distribution.
- Develop and implement strategic plans that align supply chain efforts with BSWH's business objectives.
- Manage cost assessments and propose cost-saving and service improvement measures to senior leaders.
- Oversee acquisition, movement, and disposition of assets ensuring constant availability of supplies and equipment.
- Standardize supply chain programs involving master data management, inventory optimization, and technology adoption.
- Drive quality improvement in supply handling, inventory accuracy, and data reliability.
- Implement best practices to improve workflows and maximize operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with healthcare facilities and leadership to monitor key metrics and deliver effective supply chain services.
- Manage supply data tracking including backorders, manufacturer data, expiry dates, recalls, and lot numbers to maintain accurate inventory control.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or related discipline preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in supply chain, logistics, or closely related fields.
- Proven leadership experience within supply chain functions.
- Preference for candidates experienced in large, matrixed hospital or healthcare systems.
- Strong understanding of healthcare supply chain processes, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Track record of delivering operational and process improvements in supply chain environments.
- Excellent critical thinking, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with supply chain ERP solutions and latest technological tools.
