Director of Supplier Management

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Director of Supplier Management to steer our supplier engagement strategies and performance initiatives. This pivotal leadership role focuses on constructing a robust supplier network, enhancing supplier collaboration, boosting operational efficiency, and ensuring suppliers consistently meet our business objectives and long-term vision. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in supplier relations, procurement, supply chain functions, and process optimization, working closely with executive teams and various departments to fortify supplier partnerships and continuously improve our supplier ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement company-wide supplier management strategies aligned with strategic goals and future business plans.
• Oversee programs related to supplier relationships including onboarding, performance tracking, governance, and ongoing enhancements.
• Create and enforce policies, performance criteria, and operational standards that foster consistency, transparency, and quality in supplier dealings.
• Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with essential suppliers, service providers, and business allies to guarantee long-term success.
• Coordinate with divisions such as Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Legal, Product, Technology, Quality, and top management to synchronize supplier activities with overall objectives.
• Design supplier performance dashboards, reporting mechanisms, and KPIs to assess supplier contributions and operational results.
• Examine data regarding supplier performance, market dynamics, operational indicators, and organizational needs to uncover opportunities for improvement and added value.
• Facilitate supplier review sessions, strategic planning meetings, and development programs with internal teams and external partners.
• Lead initiatives to boost supplier collaboration, operational performance, and long-lasting partnerships.
• Mentor and develop the supplier management team, promoting a culture grounded in responsibility, teamwork, creativity, and continuous learning.
• Handle departmental budgets, resource planning, and strategic allocations to meet supplier management goals.
• Advocate for ongoing process improvements by implementing scalable systems, leveraging technology, and enhancing cross-functional cooperation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Finance, or related fields.
• Over 10 years of escalating experience in supplier management, procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or operational leadership roles.
• Proven track record in managing supplier programs and fostering strategic supplier alliances.
• Expertise in supplier relationship and performance management, procurement operations, contract oversight, and supply chain strategic planning.
• Experience running cross-departmental initiatives and working directly with executive leadership.
• Excellent competencies in leadership, communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong analytical skills, organization, problem-solving, and a data-centric decision-making approach.
• Experience with supplier performance metrics, business analytics, budgeting, and operational planning.
• Proficient in ERP systems, supplier management platforms, analytics software, and collaborative technologies.
• Ability to juggle multiple strategic projects while maintaining excellence in a fast-evolving business setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or allied disciplines preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, CPSD, or equivalents are advantageous.
• Experience overseeing supplier management in multinational corporations, manufacturing, technology, healthcare, or complex business structures.
• Knowledge of supplier development, operational excellence methodologies, continuous improvement practices, and supply chain data analytics.
• Background in managing remote or geographically dispersed supplier teams.
