About Working Wheels and the Role
At Working Wheels, our mission is to improve lives by providing reliable transportation. Through our Vehicle Purchase and Vehicle Repair Programs, we support individuals and families in obtaining safe, dependable vehicles to access work, education, healthcare, and family care. We are seeking a dedicated Director of Operations to lead the organization’s day-to-day activities and steer us toward future growth.
Key Responsibilities
The Director of Operations oversees all operational aspects including the office, automotive dealership, in-house repair shop, and community initiatives. You will manage the Vehicle Purchase Program, Vehicle Repair Program, and sales of refurbished vehicles. Leadership responsibilities include supervising a multidisciplinary team: Director of Vehicle Operations, Repair Program Coordinator, Vehicle Donation Coordinator, Administrative Specialist, and HR/Finance Coordinator. Additionally, the role involves managing financial systems, HR functions, operational infrastructure, and technology platforms to ensure accurate reporting and support for grant compliance and program evaluation. Building and maintaining community partnerships to enhance collaboration and impact is also essential.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum three years of experience in operations management
- Proven experience in managing and developing staff
- Experience with budgeting, financial oversight, and organizational planning
- Familiarity with SaaS project management tools such as Asana or monday.com
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Google Workspace
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred: Experience with automobiles, nonprofit leadership, and grant administration or reporting.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary ranging from $71,000 to $75,000
- Monthly taxable healthcare stipend of $540
- Starting with 16 paid time off days in the first year, increasing over time
