About the Company and Role

Henderson Harbor Group, a leading executive search and consulting firm specializing in finance, accounting, tax, and technology sectors, serves clients primarily in the tri-state area and nationally through its AAFA network. Our client, an international retail company based in Summit, NJ, is seeking to appoint a Director of Strategic Planning with prior retail industry experience. This position involves collaborating closely with senior leadership to influence high-level decision-making and offers strong prospects for career progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the creation and execution of corporate and business-unit strategic plans.
• Manage annual and long-term strategic planning initiatives.
• Convert strategic priorities into clear, actionable plans with quantifiable outcomes.
• Continuously assess progress towards strategic targets and suggest course corrections when necessary.
• Conduct thorough market research, analyze industry trends, and gather competitive intelligence.
• Identify emerging risks, trends, and opportunities that could impact business performance.
• Generate insights and strategic recommendations to assist executive leadership decisions.
• Evaluate possibilities for market expansion, strategic partnerships, and new business ventures.
• Analyze business metrics to find opportunities for improvement in revenue, operational efficiency, and profit.
• Lead key projects aimed at accelerating growth and enhancing profitability.
• Develop business cases and financial models to substantiate investment opportunities.
• Provide strategic support for mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and integrations as required.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Strategy, or a related discipline is mandatory.
• An MBA or advanced degree is preferable.
• Previous experience in Big 4 Transaction Advisory Services or Investment Banking is desired.
