Position Overview
The Director of Strategic Execution holds a senior leadership position responsible for transforming high-level corporate strategies into concrete, actionable plans. This role champions the coordination of cross-departmental efforts to ensure strategic objectives are achieved with measurable outcomes, partnering closely with executive leadership and various business divisions to foster organizational unity and effective implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert overarching corporate strategies into detailed initiatives, action plans, and measurable goals.
- Drive the roll-out and adherence to major enterprise strategic priorities across the company.
- Maintain alignment between individual departmental projects and the organization’s broader objectives.
- Set clear benchmarks, assign ownership roles, and implement accountability systems.
- Track and report progress on strategic goals and business priorities.
- Lead and manage significant cross-functional strategic projects with established timelines and governance.
- Identify and address risks, dependencies, and obstacles hindering project execution, developing mitigation and corrective strategies as needed.
- Create and refine KPIs and performance frameworks to gauge execution effectiveness.
- Prepare executive-level dashboards, business reviews, and strategic analysis reports.
- Collaborate extensively across departments—including operations, finance, product, engineering, sales, marketing, customer success, and human resources—to enhance coordination, resolve execution issues, and align resources.
- Evaluate current execution methodologies to recommend and implement process enhancements that promote accountability, standardize delivery frameworks, and boost decision-making capabilities.
- Lead and mentor teams involved in strategic initiatives, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results-focused execution.
- Support leadership development and organizational capability growth that underpin effective strategy implementation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, Finance, Strategy, Management, or related disciplines.
- At least 15 years of progressive experience in strategic execution, corporate strategy, business operations, program management, or management consulting.
- Demonstrated success managing cross-functional strategic initiatives and translating strategic goals into measurable implementation plans.
- Exceptional communication, organization, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience collaborating with senior executives and executive leadership teams.
Preferred Background
- Experience in sectors such as SaaS, technology, fintech, AI, or financial services, especially in high-growth environments.
- Expertise in corporate strategy, business transformation, strategic operations, or enterprise project management offices.
- Familiarity with managing global or multiple regional organizations.
- Knowledge of KPI development, strategic planning, business intelligence tools, and executive reporting processes.
- Capability to thrive in fast-paced, complex, and multifaceted organizational settings.
