About the Role

We are looking for an experienced sourcing leader to elevate supplier performance, optimize costs, and ensure dependable supply in a globally oriented setting. The Director of Sourcing will lead key strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier relations, contracts, audits, and ongoing enhancements. This position is based in Switzerland or the UK and collaborates extensively with departments such as Manufacturing, Marketing, Quality, and others to support growth, operational excellence, and supply chain reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement sourcing strategies that foster supplier growth, control costs, optimize geographic purchasing, ensure continuous supply, and align with long-range business goals.
- Oversee supplier performance programs, including scorecards, reviews, corrective measures, escalation procedures, and preventive actions.
- Drive supplier selection and qualification processes, manage negotiations including RFPs/RFQs, set contract terms, maintain service and quality standards, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Work alongside Quality and other stakeholders to schedule supplier audits, assess audit outcomes, and guarantee prompt follow-through on improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, and others to support product launches, prepare suppliers, ensure material availability, and maintain timeline alignment.
- Lead and mentor the sourcing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, ethical sourcing, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Science or an equivalent field, or comparable professional background.
- Extensive experience in sourcing, procurement, supplier management, or related supply chain functions, particularly in negotiations and developing sourcing strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of supplier performance management, audits, corrective actions, contracts, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, working effectively with Manufacturing, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and Operations teams.
- Experienced in leading people through coaching, performance oversight, team development, and engaging stakeholders constructively.
- Proficient with procurement systems, ERP platforms, supplier management tools, and general business software; adept at operating within Swiss and international business frameworks.
