Director of Sourcing

We are looking for a Director of Sourcing to spearhead strategic sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships, leading contract negotiations, performing audits, and driving continuous improvements. Located in Switzerland or the UK, this position partners with Manufacturing, Marketing, Quality, and other departments to foster business development, maintain supply chain stability, and achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies to support supplier enhancement, cost-efficiency, location-based purchasing plans, supply assurance, and long-term company goals.
• Oversee supplier performance management schemes such as scorecards, business reviews, improvement and escalation protocols, and corrective/preventive action programs.
• Handle end-to-end supplier selection, qualification, and negotiation processes, including RFP/RFQ management, contract stipulations, service level agreements, quality standards, and risk mitigation.
• Work closely with Quality and relevant teams to organize supplier audits, track results, and ensure prompt execution of required improvements.
• Collaborate actively with Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, and other teams to support product launches, guarantee supplier preparedness, secure material availability, and synchronize timelines.
• Lead and mentor the sourcing department, fostering a culture of responsibility, cooperation, ongoing enhancement, and ethical procurement practices.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Extensive background in sourcing, procurement, supplier management, or related areas, with a strong record in supplier negotiations and sourcing strategy development.
• Deep knowledge of managing supplier performance, conducting audits, enforcing corrective actions, contract negotiation, and continuous process improvements.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and Operations teams.
• Experience in leadership roles involving coaching, managing performance, growing teams, and engaging stakeholders.
• Proficiency with procurement systems, ERP platforms, supplier management software, and common business applications, capable of operating efficiently in Swiss and international commercial settings.
