Job description

Role Summary

The Director of Security oversees and coordinates all aspects of security services and administrative functions for a designated contract site. Responsibilities include managing security operations, staff, compliance, reporting, and client relations to ensure contract requirements and quality standards are met.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide training to security personnel, assessing their performance to meet client and company standards, ensuring timely completion of onsite training.
  • Collaborate directly with clients at various organizational levels to maintain satisfaction and foster client retention.
  • Create and manage staffing schedules securing complete coverage for all posts in alignment with contract obligations.
  • Control budgetary elements such as overtime and attrition rates, offering strategic recommendations for operational improvements.
  • Deliver weekly operational status reports to senior management regarding issues and updates.
  • Coordinate emergency response activities by liaising with police and fire departments.
  • Organize and participate in client meetings, including after-hours sessions with clients and tenant boards as required.
  • Conduct daily roll calls and maintain comprehensive logs on unusual incidents and service requests.
  • Manage equipment distribution to guards, maintaining accurate issuance records.
  • Oversee payroll processes: time sheet collection, approval, certification, reconciliation of discrepancies, and authorization of leave requests.
  • Develop and update specific post orders outlining job responsibilities for security posts.
  • Identify staffing needs; coordinate recruitment and hiring activities by working with HR, including interviewing and providing final hiring recommendations.
  • Administer disciplinary processes, documenting actions up to final warnings in cooperation with HR.
  • Propose employment decisions such as suspensions, terminations, and transfers for HR review.
  • Report all security breaches following established protocols.
  • Support client and resident de-escalation efforts when necessary.
  • Address and manage uniform requirements and replacements, anticipating seasonal or wear-related needs.
  • Ensure proper communication and dissemination of policies and procedures among security staff.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional customer service aptitude and communication skills with experience in managing client relationships.
  • Preferably hold a bachelor's degree and possess knowledge of profit/loss management and client negotiation or collections.
  • Demonstrated employment history with verifiable references and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Possession of HR 218 certification is required.
  • Law enforcement background is favored.
