Role Summary

The Director of Sales will shape and run sales strategy, build a strong performance-oriented team culture, and drive the organization toward ambitious revenue goals. This leader will manage Strategic Account Executives, helping them perform at a high level and consistently hit or exceed quota. The role is part of the sales leadership group and reports to the Chief Revenue Officer.

Key Duties

  • Create and refine sales processes and methodologies that improve team productivity and support stronger revenue performance.
  • Build practical plans to win new customers and expand the company’s presence in the market.
  • Own the company-wide bookings forecast, including accurate forecasting, scenario planning, and data-based projections used for leadership, resource, and revenue planning.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Product to keep sales priorities aligned with go-to-market execution.
  • Track industry movements and competitor activity to surface opportunities and areas that need attention.
  • Partner with the CRO to define and execute the broader sales strategy in line with growth goals and market demand.
  • Be accountable for revenue growth and overall sales objectives across the business.
  • Use data and insights to guide decisions, improve plans, and strengthen team outcomes.
  • Promote modern sales approaches and the use of relevant technology.
  • Build a culture centered on ownership, coaching, and ongoing improvement.
  • Handle other related duties as needed.

Leadership Scope

This position manages a team of Strategic Account Executives.

Experience and Background

Applicants should bring at least 8 years of progressive experience in enterprise SaaS sales and a demonstrated history of meeting or surpassing revenue targets. Experience selling to associations and/or nonprofit organizations is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will also have a solid understanding of the enterprise SaaS space, especially the association and nonprofit markets, including customer needs and current trends.

Skills and Competencies

The role calls for strong analytical thinking, sharp problem-solving ability, careful attention to detail, and excellent critical judgment. Candidates must be able to perform well under pressure, react quickly to changing situations, learn new technologies rapidly, work effectively in a team, manage time well, and communicate clearly with others.
