Role Overview
The Director of Sales and Marketing is tasked with steering the hotel's commercial direction to maximize revenue, enhance market share, and elevate brand recognition across all income-generating segments. Responsibilities encompass overseeing Sales, Marketing including Digital Marketing, Public Relations, and Business Development, ensuring these areas align with the hotel's goals and brand ethos.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft and implement the yearly commercial strategy and business plan to meet revenue and profitability goals.
- Spot emerging market opportunities, new business areas, and additional revenue channels.
- Keep abreast of market trends, competition, and economic factors to adapt strategies proactively.
- Work closely with the General Manager and Revenue Management on pricing, forecasting, and demand planning.
- Lead and motivate the Sales team to meet targets across room bookings, banquets, catering, corporate and leisure segments, MICE, wholesale, and groups.
- Develop strategic accounts and nurture relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, event organizers, and government bodies.
- Set individual sales goals and regularly review team performance.
- Engage in client meetings, presentations, networking, and industry trade events.
- Design and manage integrated marketing campaigns that boost brand awareness and generate quality business leads.
- Supervise digital marketing efforts such as website analytics, SEO/SEM, email marketing, paid advertisements, and social media platforms.
- Ensure all marketing materials are consistent with brand standards.
- Collaborate with creative partners and internal teams to deliver impactful marketing initiatives.
- Coordinate with Revenue Management to maximize occupancy rates, average daily rates, RevPAR, and overall hotel revenue.
- Drive demand across hotel outlets, including rooms, restaurants, bars, events, and additional services.
- Analyze commercial outcomes periodically and implement necessary corrective measures.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to broaden market reach.
- Initiate programs to expand corporate accounts, MICE business, and long-term stays.
- Maintain an updated pipeline of potential clients and track conversion performance.
- Hire, mentor, and retain a successful commercial team fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
- Conduct regular assessments and developmental planning for team growth.
- Promote teamwork among Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, Reservations, and Operations departments.
- Develop and oversee the annual Sales and Marketing budget ensuring efficient use of funds with a focus on ROI.
- Monitor operating expenses and produce monthly reports, forecasts, and business reviews.
- Build and maintain relationships with owners, brand officials, tourism boards, corporate partners, and industry groups.
- Represent the hotel at industry events, exhibitions, and networking functions.
- Support reporting requirements for ownership and other commercial presentations.
- Ensure adherence to corporate policies, brand standards, legal and data protection regulations.
- Maintain accurate commercial documentation, contracts, and account management records.
