Role Summary
This contract, project-based leadership role is based on site in Buckhead, Georgia and operates as a full-time position. The Director of Race Operations will take charge of the planning, coordination, and delivery of race-related events and activities for the household and related entities. The position requires close oversight of schedules, vendors, staff assignments, logistics, budgets, safety, and compliance, with a strong emphasis on clear communication and quick problem-solving.
Key Duties
- Own the end-to-end planning and execution of race-day and race-related events.
- Build detailed timelines, coordinate milestones, and keep multiple moving parts aligned.
- Work with vendors, contractors, and service partners to ensure services are delivered on time and to standard.
- Organize staff coverage and schedules so operations run efficiently during events.
- Create and carry out operational plans that support smooth event delivery.
- Track budgets, monitor expenses, and support basic contract oversight.
- Maintain safety procedures and compliance requirements throughout all activities.
- Keep principals and other stakeholders informed and address issues as they arise.
- Look for process improvements that raise the quality and efficiency of future events.
Required Background
- Experience in operations, event management, or race/event logistics, preferably in private households or high-profile settings.
- Strong ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate several events or timelines at once.
- Comfort leading cross-functional groups, including vendors, contractors, and household staff.
- Clear, professional communication skills with a client-service mindset.
- Working knowledge of budget tracking, reporting, and basic contract administration.
- Ability to make quick, practical decisions in fast-paced, time-sensitive situations.
- High discretion, professionalism, and dependability in a private, high-net-worth environment.
- Familiarity with office productivity and scheduling software; event management tools are an added advantage.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when event schedules require it.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience; experience in motorsports, sporting events, or large-scale event operations is strongly helpful.
Work Conditions
This is an on-site position in Buckhead, GA. The role may require extended working hours, including weekends and holidays, depending on the event calendar.
