Overview
Join East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust as the Director of Quality Governance, providing strategic leadership across all facets of quality governance, including patient safety, clinical effectiveness, and patient experience within a large multi-site hospital trust serving approximately 800,000 people.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer and Chief Medical Officer to lead and strengthen quality governance systems organization-wide.
- Manage corporate experts and teams in patient safety, clinical effectiveness, and patient experience, ensuring efficient matrix working with organizational leaders.
- Develop and maintain a dynamic quality assurance framework that supports Ward-to-Board accountability and drives quality improvements near to patient care.
- Establish and oversee governance structures aligned with national policies, audits, and alerts to enhance local monitoring and reporting.
- Lead the Trust’s Quality Assurance Framework to achieve consistent application focused on enhancing patient care, safety, and experience.
- Foster strong collaboration between care organizations and corporate governance teams.
- Guide production of the annual quality account in partnership with communications.
- Advance integrated serious incident reporting and complaints processes.
- Implement the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) across the Trust effectively engaging care organizations.
- Ensure NHS Resolution and Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts (CNST) compliance through comprehensive action plans and support.
- Serve as the corporate lead for quality in contract discussions with commissioners, aiding negotiation of quality indicators and CQUINs.
