Director of Purchasing

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned and forward-thinking Director of Purchasing to oversee the organization’s procurement and buying functions. This position will shape sourcing direction, streamline purchasing workflows, and help maintain the right balance of cost, quality, and supply continuity in a fast-moving, remote-first setting.

What You Will Do

• Own and guide the purchasing strategy across different product groups and supplier networks.
• Manage the full vendor lifecycle, including sourcing, assessment, negotiation, and agreement finalization.
• Lead initiatives that reduce spend while preserving service levels and product quality.
• Develop productive, long-term partnerships with critical suppliers and business partners.
• Track purchasing KPIs and keep procurement activity aligned with wider business priorities.
• Spot potential supply disruptions early and put mitigation plans in place to protect continuity.
• Work closely with supply chain, finance, and operations teams to ensure smooth cross-functional execution.
• Refine purchasing policies, processes, and tools to improve scalability and day-to-day efficiency.
• Contribute to forecasting and demand planning so procurement actions match business needs.

What We’re Looking For

• Background in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain leadership with proven ownership of team or function-level outcomes.
• Strong supplier negotiation experience and a track record of managing vendor relationships effectively.
• Practical knowledge of sourcing approaches, contract management, and cost reduction methods.
• Comfort working across distributed teams and in remote operating environments.
• Strong analytical judgment and the ability to make well-reasoned decisions quickly.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
• Evidence of improving purchasing efficiency and strengthening operational performance.
