Overview
The Director of Project Management is charged with ensuring projects consistently meet deadlines and budget targets while upholding superior quality standards. This role includes direct communication with customers to align expectations concerning supply chain constraints, budgeting, and resource availability.
Additionally, the position entails managing shop capacity planning to schedule project phases efficiently and optimize resource utilization within operational capacities. Leadership duties include mentoring and developing the Project Management team to enhance customer satisfaction, cost management, quality standards, and profitability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to project managers, fostering a collaborative and continuous learning environment.
- Refine, implement, and oversee project management processes to improve efficiency and align with industry best practices.
- Utilize technology tools to optimize workflow, resource allocation, and project scheduling.
- Monitor and evaluate processes regularly, applying data-driven analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate across departments to enhance overall productivity and project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, client contracts, and lead change management efforts related to process improvements.
- Manage the master schedule to optimize shop capacity and resources.
- Identify and mitigate risks throughout project lifecycles and enforce quality control measures.
- Work closely with drafting, engineering, production, and supply chain teams to meet objectives.
- Oversee budgets to meet financial goals and seek cost-saving efficiencies.
- Promote workplace safety culture in compliance with company health and safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline is mandatory.
- Possession of PMP or equivalent project management certification is required.
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is considered advantageous.
- At least 10 years of experience in Construction Project Management, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior managerial role.
- Demonstrated success managing large and complex projects, maintaining profitability and client satisfaction.
- Strong knowledge of metal building systems and relevant industry standards.

- Business acumen with effective decision-making and prioritization skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team and client engagement.
- Expertise in multi-project management ensuring financial stability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management software, and ERP systems is preferred.
