Job description

Role Overview

We are looking for a strategic, results-driven Director of Project Management to steer our organization's project management function and ensure the successful accomplishment of enterprise-wide programs and key strategic initiatives. This leadership role involves setting up project governance, refining delivery methods, and guaranteeing that projects meet deadlines, budgets, and organizational goals. The successful candidate will lead project managers and cross-functional teams, driving operational excellence and continuous portfolio improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization’s project management operations and oversee the entire project portfolio.
  • Formulate and enforce project strategies, governance structures, and delivery standards.
  • Manage planning, execution, oversight, and timely delivery of strategic projects and programs.
  • Define key performance indicators, develop performance dashboards, and manage executive reporting.
  • Handle budgets, forecasts, resource distribution, and financial aspects of projects.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, manage issues and interdependencies.
  • Align project activities with corporate priorities through collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Guide cross-functional teams and manage relationships with vendors, consultants, and external parties.
  • Ensure adherence to contracts, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Enhance PMO maturity, promote best practices, and encourage continuous process improvements.
  • Address escalated challenges and facilitate executive decision-making.
  • Mentor project management staff and nurture leadership capabilities.
  • Bolster stakeholder engagement and maintain strong client relations throughout project lifecycles.
  • Support transformation, innovation, and operational excellence efforts.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving project management methods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, IT, Construction Management, or related fields.
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Highly desirable professional certifications: PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent.
  • Deep expertise in project and portfolio management, PMO governance, and strategic planning.
  • Proven experience directing enterprise-wide, cross-functional, or large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Primavera P6, Asana, or Smartsheet.
  • Robust financial skills including budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning.
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management talents.
  • Strong analytical reasoning, organizational skills, and decisiveness.
  • Experience in spearheading organizational changes and business transformation initiatives.
  • Professional integrity, accountability, and a commitment to high standards.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic environments.
  • Dedication to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Effective client relationship management and expertise in executive-level presentations.
