The company operates within a modern facility exceeding 30,000 square feet and is renowned for its craftsmanship, managing complex projects, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.

Role Summary

The Director of Project Management will lead multiple custom millwork projects from initial concept through installation by managing scope, timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks. This full-time hybrid position, based in Lafayette, Colorado, includes supervising a team of project managers and acting as the primary liaison to clients, architects, and general contractors. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership, project management expertise, and excellent communication skills, along with knowledge of architectural millwork, custom woodworking, or construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of project managers handling several concurrent custom millwork projects.
  • Oversee all phases of project planning and execution, managing schedules, budgets, risk factors, and resolving issues effectively.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, production, and installation teams to ensure smooth project delivery that meets quality standards.
  • Review architectural and shop drawings, handle change orders, and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for owners, architects, and general contractors, ensuring transparent communication and outstanding service.
  • Implement process improvements to optimize workflows, enhance project results, and improve client satisfaction.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing and planning complex, multi-phase construction or millwork projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in mentoring project managers and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with architectural millwork, custom woodworking, or construction; able to interpret architectural and shop drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with clients, internal teams, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities to control budgets, evaluate risks, and support informed decision-making.
  • Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office; knowledge of CAD workflows and ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
