Overview
Wealthfront seeks an experienced Director of Product Marketing to spearhead the go-to-market strategies for its Managed and Self-Directed investing offerings. Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, this role involves assembling and leading a top-tier product marketing team by leveraging deep customer insights, crafting compelling product narratives, driving operational excellence in go-to-market execution, and collaborating closely on the product roadmap with various departments including Product, Design, Engineering, Creative, Research, and Data Science.

The product marketing function at Wealthfront is pivotal in shaping product roadmaps, pinpointing and confirming target segments, refining positioning, and scaling proven products. Ideal candidates demonstrate ability to validate and define value propositions and growth hypotheses, thrive amid ambiguity, embrace iterative testing, and command both qualitative and quantitative data fluency. Leadership and cross-functional communication skills are essential, supported by a product-led growth orientation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the product marketing team in planning and executing strategies for new product launches, from identifying initial audience segments to developing engaging positioning and expanding distribution for products achieving market fit.
- Collaborate with product, consumer research, engineering, and design teams to formulate a product roadmap addressing unmet customer needs and unlocking growth.
- Develop clear, insight-driven creative briefs for creative teams to implement.
- Present business performance and insights to the executive leadership team.
- Monitor cultural trends continuously to inform creative and product strategies.
- Manage and mentor experienced product marketers, fostering a culture of excellence, curiosity, and respect.
Candidate Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in consumer product marketing or growth marketing, preferably within technology or startup environments.
- Exceptional storytelling aptitude with strong communication, presentation, and writing capabilities.
- Strategic mindset balancing creativity with effective marketing execution.
- Proven ability to impose clarity on ambiguity, utilize structured frameworks, and translate insights into actionable plans for complex objectives.
- Data-driven approach with familiarity in analysis, A/B testing, and messaging experiments.
- Humble leadership style with a hands-on approach that uplifts team members.
- Experience in managing and developing marketing teams.
- Knowledge of personal finance is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Bachelor's degree or higher required.
Compensation & Benefits
The estimated annual salary ranges from $196,000 to $221,000 USD plus equity options.
