Job Overview
The Director of Processing, reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, is tasked with leading all aspects of medical cannabis processing, including extraction and manufacturing of derivative products. This role demands oversight of productivity, efficiency, employee management, and quality assurance within processing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee operations across the entire processing facility with direct supervision of all departments.
- Drive strategic development and operational processes ensuring production and scheduling efficiency from crude extraction to distillate processing.
- Maintain product quality standards and ensure all procedures comply with relevant laws, regulations, policies, and administrative guidelines.
- Handle employee relations, including guidance, leadership and disciplinary measures for processing managers and staff.
- Ensure accurate labeling and adherence to production protocols to meet monthly targets.
- Maintain production records, inventory counts, and digital or written tracking logs.
- Plan operations efficiently to meet timelines and address operational challenges proactively.
- Train new employees and managers on proper processing techniques, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure availability of necessary supplies.
- Secure restricted access clearance to designated areas as required.
- Fulfill any additional duties assigned to support the processing department.
