Role Summary
Located within the People & Culture Department at Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah Riyadh, the Director of People & Culture leads all HR functions at the property. This role acts as a strategic business partner and consultant, overseeing local and regional projects to enhance division efficiency. The Director is responsible for comprehensive HR management including talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, learning and development, colleague relations, health and safety, management organization, and workplace practices.
Key Duties
- Develop and execute the property’s People strategy aligned with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group standards.
- Establish and supervise all People & Culture procedures, systems, and practices.
- Advise division and department heads on employment policies and processes.
- Ensure colleagues’ career progression and development are prioritized and tracked using MO systems.
- Manage competitive compensation and benefits packages through regular market surveys and job reviews for internal and external equity.
- Ensure payroll systems function efficiently and employees are paid on time.
- Maintain compliance with Saudi Labour laws and keep updated on legislative changes affecting hotel operations.
- Lead initiatives to cultivate positive workplace climate, high morale, effective communication, and good colleague relations.
- Organize social and sporting activities to support colleague engagement.
- Ensure all employees have valid employment contracts, work permits, and visas as required.
- Oversee implementation of Food, Labour, Health, Safety and Sustainability (FLHSS), Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) policies within the department.
- Provide leadership and promote commitment to safety and sustainability programs.
- Communicate corporate and hotel policies and standard operating procedures to all colleagues.
- Ensure emergency procedures are in place and regularly practiced.
- Verify contractors and colleagues comply with Mandarin Oriental Riyadh safety rules.
- Conduct monthly meetings to provide a forum for colleagues to express concerns and share information.
- Serve as a hotel ambassador and undertake additional duties as assigned by management related to hotel operations.
