Job description
Role summary
The Director of People & Capabilities will steer the resort’s people function and help translate Jayasom’s strategy, culture, and wellness-led values into day-to-day practice. This role is responsible for shaping the People & Capabilities framework, policies, and initiatives so they align with the resort’s mission and commercial objectives. The position also calls for strong stakeholder management across internal teams and external partners, with a focus on leading by example and reinforcing a culture rooted in wellness and sustainability.
Core responsibilities
- Own the full People & Capabilities agenda, covering hiring, learning and development, employee engagement, rewards and benefits, performance management, succession planning, and workforce planning.
- Create, refine, and implement HR policies, processes, and strategic people plans while staying aligned with corporate requirements and Saudi labor regulations.
- Drive the HR workstream for the pre-opening phase, including critical path planning, hiring strategy, onboarding, and ensuring the workforce is ready for launch.
- Work closely with department heads on recruitment, employee relations, coaching, performance improvement, and wider organizational development needs.
- Manage the department budget, HRIS, annual people plan, and reporting requirements for corporate stakeholders.
- Lead learning initiatives, succession planning activities, and broader employee development programs.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with universities, training bodies, and other external organizations to strengthen talent attraction and capability building.
- Ensure all people-related operations comply with local legislation, shared-service processes, outsourced vendors, and internal standards.
Requirements
- A BSc/BA in Human Resources, Psychology, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
- Extensive HR leadership experience in Saudi Arabia is required, with prior pre-opening exposure strongly preferred.
- Sound understanding of talent management, Saudi labor law, HR policy design, and strategic HR practices.
- Hands-on experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, coaching, and learning & development.
- Working knowledge of HRIS, workforce planning, people analytics, and organizational development.
- Strong capability in leadership, communication, relationship management, and business partnering.
- Well-developed organizational skills, with the ability to solve problems effectively and manage time well.
- A professional approach marked by positivity, adaptability, trustworthiness, ethics, and integrity.
