Job description

About the College

Parade College is part of Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA), the national network of Catholic schools. The College is committed to helping young people develop as balanced, capable individuals who can contribute positively to society. Within a lively learning environment, students are supported to discover their strengths, pursue excellence, and grow in all aspects of life.

As a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, Parade College places strong emphasis on high-quality education and pastoral care, with the aim of supporting each student’s holistic development and sense of fullness of life. Established in 1871, the College is Australia’s oldest Edmund Rice school and has a long record of educational and pastoral excellence. Its broad curriculum includes academic, sporting, music, visual arts, and trade pathways.

The College’s VCE Vocational Major program became co-educational in 2025, welcoming full-time female enrolments into Year 11 for the first time in its history. From Term 1 2025, the Preston campus VCE VM program also expanded with a new Tertiary Pathways Program, which includes a second stream of the successful Sport Academy and a new Business Academy. These academies are designed to give students direct entry into selected La Trobe University undergraduate courses after completing the two-year program. Parade College values innovation, continuous learning, and strong relationships among staff, students, and the wider College community.

Role Overview

As a member of the College Leadership Team, the Director of Operations is responsible for bringing together the College’s organisational needs and teaching and learning priorities through clear leadership of operations. This role works closely with the Daily Organiser(s) to support everyday operations and liaises with staff across the College as well as external stakeholders to maintain high operational standards.

The position plays a key part in ensuring the College runs smoothly so that student learning and pastoral opportunities are maximised. It also supports the planning, coordination, and management of resources needed to deliver the Strategic Plan. In collaboration with relevant staff, the Director of Operations helps plan, facilitate, manage, implement, and review College programs and activities so they are well prepared and effectively delivered.

Appointment Details

The successful candidate will begin on 27 January 2027. This is a leadership appointment for a three-year term and includes an ongoing teaching position linked to the role. The position also comes with a generous Position of Leadership Allowance and a time allowance per cycle.

Application Requirements

Applicants are asked to review the advertisement and position description carefully before applying, so they can clearly demonstrate how they meet the selection criteria and understand the responsibilities of the role.

Applications should be addressed to the College Principal, Mark Aiello. Enquiries about the role or the application process may be directed to Doreen Cutajar, Director of Human Resources, by email or phone.

Compliance and Equal Opportunity

All applicants will be required to complete the College’s and legislative screening procedures, in line with the College’s child protection obligations. The successful applicant must be a registered teacher in Victoria, or eligible to obtain registration before the role begins.

Parade College is dedicated to the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of all children and young people. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply, and the College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
