Position Overview
Madcap Coffee is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Director of Operations who aligns with the company’s values of grit, humility, pursuing the unconventional, and creating opportunities. This role reports directly to the President/Founder and leads the execution of the business plan across all key operational sectors, including Roastery, Retail, Sales & Marketing, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, management, and accountability by directing the Finance Manager, Roastery Operations Manager, Retail Operations Manager, and Sales & Marketing Manager, ensuring all meet their goals and performance metrics.
- Partner with the Finance Manager to oversee budget management, cost control, and financial performance, ensuring departments operate within budgets and financial targets are achieved or surpassed.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment among Roastery, Retail, Sales & Marketing, and Finance to resolve operational silos and promote cooperation.
- Own and continuously enhance operational processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guarantee consistent execution and drive process improvements with focus on simplicity, clarity, and quality.
- Translate the Founder’s strategic vision into actionable plans, communicate key messages across the company, and serve as the main accountability contact to ensure adherence to Madcap’s operational system.

Position Details
- Full-time employment
- Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends as needed
- Work environment: Professional office setting using typical office equipment
- Travel: 2 to 3 trips annually
- Supervisory role involving direct management of four department heads
