Role Summary

As Director of Operations, you will work remotely on a full-time basis and take ownership of the organization’s daily operational functions. The position is centered on managing processes and workflows, improving the efficiency of program and service delivery, and tracking progress against operational targets. You will guide and support cross-functional teams, make sure resources and budgets are used effectively, and contribute to strategic planning. The role also includes reviewing operational metrics, strengthening systems, coordinating with stakeholders and partners, and protecting a high-quality experience for customers and community members. In addition, you will help introduce best practices, create and maintain process documentation, and work closely with leadership to enable long-term, sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee everyday operational activities across the organization.
  • Refine processes and workflows to improve efficiency and delivery quality.
  • Track operational performance and compare results against set goals.
  • Lead, coach, and coordinate cross-functional teams, including remote team members.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to support organizational priorities.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Strengthen internal systems and help implement better ways of working.
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning and growth initiatives.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and external partners to ensure smooth execution.
  • Maintain strong standards for customer and community experience.
  • Develop and document procedures and operational best practices.

Qualifications

  • Solid background in operations management, process improvement, workflow optimization, and performance tracking.
  • Strong analytical ability to evaluate data, build insights, and guide decisions.
  • Demonstrated people management experience with remote or distributed teams.
  • Capability in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial oversight.
  • Customer and stakeholder service mindset, with experience improving experiences for partners and communities.
  • Prior exposure to fintech, technology, nonprofit, or community-oriented organizations is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities, along with comfort in a remote work setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or a similar field; advanced degrees or operations/project management certifications are considered a plus.
