Role Overview
Situated fully remote in Argentina and reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Operations will oversee the entire order fulfillment process—from order transmission to supplier through final delivery to customers. This leadership role entails managing the Operations team responsible for supplier management and order execution. Beyond daily operations, the position involves spearheading strategic special projects to shift from reactive problem solving to proactive risk mitigation, with a focus on applying automation and AI to streamline processes and reduce manual intervention.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the integrity of order transmission to suppliers and manage supplier performance to guarantee timely processing and shipment.
- Oversee carrier partnerships and manage shipment transit performance, including handling the end-to-end shipping claims process.
- Coordinate the returns-to-supplier workflows by collaborating with relevant operations managers.
- Lead and mentor People & Operations Managers along with Program & Analytics Managers, prioritizing tasks and encouraging high performance.
- Drive special projects and company-wide strategic initiatives in partnership with the COO and senior leadership.
- Identify and rectify operational inefficiencies within fulfillment processes through targeted improvements with cross-functional teams.
- Lead efforts for process enhancements and automation by integrating AI and system-based solutions to reduce cycle times and manual workload.
- Proactively establish safeguards within the order lifecycle to prevent disruptions, fostering a culture of anticipatory risk management.
- Maintain clear communication with internal teams and external partners to ensure goals align across the organization.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Availability to work until at least 2:00 PM Pacific Time.
- A minimum of 8 years in operations management, including at least 3 years overseeing managers or multiple teams.
- Experienced in managing supplier, logistics/carrier, or fulfillment partnerships at scale.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments; startup experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a capacity to anticipate and prevent issues.
- Data-driven decision-making mindset combined with business acumen relating operational and financial metrics.
- Self-motivated with the initiative to independently implement improvements.
- Excellent communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and data processing/reporting tools.
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
Additional Information
- Travel up to 15% is expected for activities such as supplier or carrier site visits.
