Director of Operations

About the Role

Reliance Global Logistics is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to join their team in Charleston, South Carolina. This leadership role offers the chance to influence both strategic direction and operational execution, partnering closely with the company President. The Director will be responsible for building robust systems, enhancing processes, and fostering leadership frameworks to support scalable business growth. They will serve as the central operational connector among departments such as Sales, Client Success, Carrier Sales, Finance, and Administration to maintain alignment, clarity, and accountability across the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the CEO to implement strategic initiatives and company goals.
• Lead projects spanning multiple departments to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
• Coach and mentor leadership personnel while cultivating a culture of ownership and accountability.
• Create, document, and continuously update business processes and standard operating procedures.
• Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.
• Improve operational systems, technology, and automation to support growth and efficiency.
• Facilitate collaboration among Sales, Client Success, Carrier Sales, Finance, and Administration teams.
• Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks and proactively resolve business challenges.
• Assist with annual planning, organizational development, and implement the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
• Build operational infrastructure supporting Reliance Global Logistics' long-term business growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive leadership experience within operations, logistics, transportation, distribution, or related industries.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational improvements.
• Strong skills in leadership, coaching, and team development.
• Experience in implementing scalable systems and operational processes.
• Analytical capabilities for managing KPIs and business performance reporting.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced setting.
• Freight brokerage or third-party logistics experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with EOS or comparable operating systems is highly desirable.
