Overview
SPAR Group is searching for a highly motivated Director of New Business Development to spearhead revenue expansion through strategic prospecting, enterprise-level selling, and consultative solutions. This leadership role focuses on forging fresh partnerships within sectors such as consumer packaged goods, retail, merchandising, field services, retail technology, and emerging markets.
Key Duties
- Craft and implement proactive outbound sales plans to accelerate new client acquisition.
- Identify and engage senior decision-makers via networking, industry functions, and targeted outreach.
- Oversee all phases of the sales process, from lead identification to proposal preparation, negotiation, and contract finalization.
- Develop tailored solutions based on SPAR's expert capabilities including retail merchandising, auditing/compliance, store resets, assembly services, flexible workforce solutions, and retail tech analytics.
- Lead responses to RFPs, deliver engaging sales presentations, and manage executive-level client discussions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Technology to deliver profitable, scalable proposals.
- Consistently meet or surpass pipeline growth, revenue targets, and new business goals.
- Be willing to travel up to 30% as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional background required.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of proven success in business development, enterprise sales, or B2B sales.
- Strong history of generating qualified sales pipelines and closing new business deals.
- Experience targeting industries such as CPG, retail services, merchandising, field services, or retail technology.
- Exceptional skills in consultative selling, crafting solutions, and building executive relationships.
- Expertise in strategic prospecting, lead nurturing, and pipeline management.
- Advanced communication skills including storytelling and executive presentations.
- Proven experience responding to RFPs, proposal development, and negotiating complex contracts.
- Sound commercial and financial knowledge, including pricing strategy and profitability.
- Proficiency with sales software tools including Microsoft PowerPoint, CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other prospecting platforms.
