Job description

About Atmosphere TV

Atmosphere TV is recognized as the leading streaming TV platform tailored for businesses, providing content to venues such as restaurants, gyms, bars, airports, and waiting rooms nationwide. The company offers high-quality, sound-off video content and contextually tailored advertising targeted at four specific groups: venue owners and operators, advertisers and brand marketers, content creators, and on-site viewers.

Known for its rapid innovation and ambitious goals, Atmosphere TV's marketing team is small but growing, with each member playing a significant role in driving forward the company's mission. The marketing function operates as a shared service, amplifying the efforts and products currently available.

Role Overview

The organization hosts hundreds of events annually to support two sales teams — Ad Sales and Venue Sales. These events vary from trade shows and industry summits to exclusive client dinners and large-scale activations. They play a vital role in business growth, relationship development, and brand visibility.

The Director of Marketing and Events will provide both strategic leadership and hands-on management to the existing events team, collaborating closely with the Ad Sales Marketing and Creative teams to ensure all events reflect the company’s identity and strategic goals.

This position balances event strategy and execution with broader marketing activities, especially focusing on social media and content marketing support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the overall event strategy for both sales teams, ensuring clear objectives, well-defined target audiences, and actionable plans for each event.
  • Maintain a comprehensive events calendar encompassing a wide range of activations from large conferences to intimate client gatherings.
  • Coordinate cross-team collaboration between Ad Sales and Venue Sales to ensure consistent, intentional, and well-prepared event participation.
  • Lead pre-event planning, establishing success metrics, outlining approaches, briefing involved stakeholders, and setting expectations prior to event execution.
  • Identify and implement new opportunities for brand exposure at events, including sponsorships, hosting experiences, and major activations.
  • Manage and mentor the events team, fostering structure, clarity, and professional growth.
  • Oversee the events budget transparently, tracking expenditures, anticipating discrepancies, and reporting regularly to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Create and manage communication systems such as event briefs, run-of-show documents, stakeholder updates, and post-event performance reports.
  • Collaborate with the Ad Sales Marketing team to ensure event assets are correctly briefed, timely, and align with brand standards.
  • Partner with the Creative team to deliver visually compelling event presence including booth design, signage, digital displays, branded merchandise, and collateral materials.
  • Co-manage Atmosphere TV’s social media channels, curating a dynamic voice, editorial calendar, and steady content posting to increase audience engagement.
  • Integrate content marketing into events by producing live event documentation, social-first content, and effective post-event content distribution.
  • Develop content strategies serving diverse audiences—venue owners, advertisers, creators, and end viewers—with tailored, platform-appropriate storytelling.
  • Support influencer and creator collaborations to boost event visibility and celebrate brand milestones.
  • Act as a versatile marketing partner supporting campaign efforts, copy review, strategic briefs, and other projects as directed by the Head of Marketing.
  • Instill marketing discipline in event-related sales communication, ensuring compelling and consistent brand narratives with appropriate collateral.
  • Contribute to overarching brand-building initiatives including PR and content ideation as a key player on a lean, productive team.

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of marketing experience, with significant focus on planning and managing complex event calendars.
  • Broad marketing expertise across paid, owned, earned, and shared media channels, providing value beyond events.
  • Highly organized with a commitment to thorough communication, ensuring no detail or update is missed.
  • Proven adeptness in budget management, including transparent tracking and proactive financial reporting.
  • Strong collaborator skilled at working across departments and teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Expertise in social media and content marketing, with the ability to grow brand presence effectively.
  • A leadership style emphasizing mentorship, structure, and enabling team members to excel.
  • Creative sensibility and appreciation for brand aesthetics and event presentation, capable of guiding creative teams.
  • Adaptable to a dynamic, fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities and a focus on action-oriented outcomes.
  • Personable and grounded leader who earns trust through respect and dedication to quality work; leads by example.

Preferred Additional Experience

  • Experience within media, advertising technology, connected TV (CTV), streaming, or location-based media sectors.
  • Familiarity with B2B and sales-oriented event marketing across distinct sales team audiences.
  • Comfort managing a spectrum of events from major trade shows (e.g., CES, Cannes) to boutique client engagements.
  • Background collaborating closely with creative teams, able to clearly brief and provide effective feedback.
  • Experience with email and newsletter creation and distribution, particularly using Hubspot.
