Role Overview
This senior leadership position sits within the Marketing team and reports to the CMO in Austin, Texas. The Director of Marketing & Events will shape Hanger’s external presence, strengthen partner relationships, and create high-impact experiences that support business goals. The role calls for a strategic, executive-level leader who can also operate hands-on and deliver programs at scale.
Event Strategy and Leadership
- Lead the cross-functional team supporting Hanger LIVE, ensuring clear accountability, ownership, and direction across all workstreams.
- Define the long-term vision and multi-year roadmap for Hanger LIVE and the Global Partners Summit, keeping both aligned with brand and growth priorities.
- Own planning, budgeting, execution, and post-event review for all event phases.
- Create repeatable frameworks, standards, and processes that improve consistency, quality, and scalability across the two event platforms.
- Present strategy, results, and recommendations to the CMO and senior leadership.
- Set up operating routines that keep the Global Partners Summit moving forward effectively.
Communications
- Partner with internal and external communications teams to build integrated, multi-channel communication plans for both events.
- Drive strong, consistent brand storytelling across promotional materials, digital content, keynote messaging, and partner briefings.
- Act as a senior communications lead for sensitive and high-visibility partner and stakeholder interactions related to the events.
Partner Engagement
- Serve as the primary senior contact for Hanger’s global partner network and strengthen relationships that continue beyond individual events.
- Develop and execute a partner engagement plan that increases participation, satisfaction, and long-term value from Hanger LIVE and the Global Partners Summit.
- Oversee the partner experience from onboarding and briefing through post-event follow-up and ongoing relationship management.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead and coach a team of four National Events Specialists, providing direction, support, and development guidance.
- Work closely with Marketing and Communications leaders to connect events with broader brand and product marketing plans.
- Partner with the CMO on marketing planning and brand strategy.
- Build effective cross-functional relationships to ensure event programming supports business needs.
- Manage agencies, production partners, and vendors to deliver high-quality work within budget.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, with responsibility for event strategy and execution, including at least 3 years at senior or director level.
- Proven success leading large-scale flagship or global events with meaningful business impact.
- Experience presenting to and working with C-suite leaders.
- Experience in B2B, enterprise, or partner-led settings is strongly preferred.
- Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and meet the driving record standards stated in Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
