Position Summary
The Director of Manufacturing leads the operations of several Truss, Door, and Millwork manufacturing plants. This leadership role involves strategic and operational oversight, collaborating closely with Plant and General Managers to maintain safe, productive, and profitable manufacturing environments across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain safe and compliant manufacturing environments, ensuring adherence to OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies.
- Partner with plant leadership to ensure timely maintenance, inspections, and corrective actions of equipment.
- Lead safety culture initiatives promoting accountability, training, and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Plant and General Managers, enforcing standard operating procedures, lean manufacturing, and high-quality standards.
- Conduct regular site visits and performance reviews to ensure operational alignment and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Purchasing, Fleet, IT, and HR departments to synchronize production with demand.
- Manage overall manufacturing performance including labor productivity, cost control, budgeting, capital planning, and long-term strategies.
- Monitor financial metrics, inventory management, material flow, and waste reduction efforts.
- Develop and mentor leadership teams, ensuring effective performance management and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Implement standardized processes and reporting systems across all manufacturing facilities.
- Promote the company’s FACE values by fostering open communication, innovation, and collaboration among teams.
- Achieve and exceed financial, operational, and safety targets consistently across all plants.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience in manufacturing operations, preferably managing multiple sites.
- Experience in Truss, Door & Millwork or related building materials manufacturing is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, financial management, and process improvement methodologies.
- Proficient in ERP systems, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), and production reporting tools.
- Capable of operating computer hardware and mobile devices essential for job functions.
- Possession of a Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
- Fluency in English with strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
This role involves a combination of office work, manufacturing floor presence, and travel between multiple facility locations, including possible overnight stays. Physical requirements include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift or carry up to 50 pounds, and operate a vehicle as needed.
Reports To
Direct reporting includes Truss Plant Managers and Door & Millwork General Managers.
Compensation and Benefits
Annual salary ranges from $125,000 to $160,000.
- Starting with two weeks of vacation, increasing up to four weeks with tenure.
